UNITRONIX introduces Curtiss Wright Controls' VPX3-1256 3U OpenVPX™ SBC |

Curtiss Wright Controls' have introduced the VPX3-1256, its first rugged, high performance 3U OpenVPX single board computer (SBC) based on the new Intel® Core™ i7-next-generation quad-core processor. The VPX3-1256 is the newest member of CWCEC's next generation family of multi-core Intel® architecture based SBCs. It represents CWCEC's commitment to providing the broadest range of high performance SBCs designed to optimize the high bandwidth and increased interoperability delivered via compliance with industry standard OpenVPX architecture. |

The VPX3-1256 is a full featured 3U OpenVPX SBC, designed for harsh-environment, air and conduction-cooled aerospace and defense applications. Each of the Core™ i7's four cores delivers 2.1GHz of performance, providing advanced Intel® Architecture processing in a lightweight, compact configuration ideal for size, weight, and power (SWaP) constrained applications. With a wide complement of on-board I/O, Gen2 PCIe fabric, SRIO and XMC expansion, the VPX3-1256 satisfies the most demanding fielded applications from unmanned aerial and ground vehicles, tactical aircraft, and armored vehicles to rugged naval systems. |
