VME-1910 is a rugged, high-performance technology insertion Single Board Computer (SBC) for legacy VME systems. Pin compatible with many previous generations of Curtiss-Wright SBCs, the VME-1910 brings Intel’s powerful 8th Gen Xeon processor and today’s latest software and security advances to legacy VME systems.
The VME-1910 supports Intel’s most powerful Xeon processor technology, the 8th Generation Xeon E series processor. Utilising this advanced 6-core hyper-threading CPU and Curtiss-Wright’s proven ruggedisation technology, the VME-1910 is a perfect replacement for older SBCs, breathing new life and increased performance into systems required to offer higher levels of functionality than previously deployed.
The VME-1910 pairs the processor with up to 32 GB of dual-channel high speed ECC-protected DDR4 memory, providing up to 34 GB/s memory throughput and maximising the capabilities of the processor. The processor also features AVX and AVX2 SIMD extensions, accelerating maths-intensive algorithms. The Intel Xeon processor includes an enhanced Intel HD Graphics P630 GPU, offering Gen 9 discrete GPU performance with OpenGL® for graphics-intensive applications, and also serving as a 24-core GPGPU with performance up to 461 GFLOPS with OpenCL™ support for data processing-intensive applications. The Coffee Lake processor also has dedicated hardware codec support for H.264/H.265/HEVC, accelerating media-intensive processing for up to 4K image streams.
Up to 256 GB of high-speed on-board NVMe flash memory make the VME-1910 an ideal SBC for handling applications with demanding storage, data logging and sensor processing requirements.
The VME-1910 incorporates Curtis-Wright’s Helix VME Interface technology. Helix is an FPGA-based technology that offers full VME bus access and functionality while eliminating future VME bus component obsolescence.
The VME-1910 supports a number of Trusted Computing capabilities. A TPM 2.0 hardware device provides a hardware root-of-trust. Intel Boot Guard assures an authenticated/trusted and measured boot process and UEFI Secure Boot extends this trust into the operating system, ensuring only signed and trusted kernel modules and drivers can be run. The VME- 1910 ships with these security features provisioned and enabled from the factory, and does not require customers to implement these complex technologies. Arrangements can also be made for customer to manage their own security keys.
The VME-1910 includes dual PMC/XMC mezzanine sites to support a wide variety of expansion mezzanine daughter cards, including high-performance FPGA, GPGPU and storage modules. Additionally, the board supports a host of standard I/O, including dual Gigabit Ethernet, RS- 232/422, discrete DIO, dual DisplayPort/DVI, a legacy VGA port, SATA, USB and analogue audio ports.
A wide range of popular operating systems are supported, including Linux (CentOS and RHEL), Wind River VxWorks, GHS Integrity, Microsoft Windows and LynxOS, among others.
